Ethical principles for authors

By submitting a manuscript to the journal Physical Rehabilitation and Recreational Health Technologies, authors commit to adhering to the highest standards of scientific ethics and academic integrity.

Originality and Plagiarism

  • Authors must ensure that the submitted work is entirely original.
  • The use of ideas, results, or words from other researchers must be properly cited and referenced.
  • Any form of plagiarism (from verbatim copying to paraphrasing without attribution) is unacceptable and will lead to the immediate rejection of the manuscript.

Authorship Criteria

Authorship is limited to those who have:
  1. Made significant contributions to the conception, design, acquisition, or interpretation of data.
  2. Participated in drafting the work or revising its intellectual content critically.
  3. Approved the final version to be published.
  4. Agreed to be accountable for all aspects of the work.
Individuals who provided only technical or financial support should be listed in the "Acknowledgments" section.

Prohibition of Multiple Submissions

  • Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is a breach of ethical standards.
  • Authors should not submit a paper that has been previously published (except as conference abstracts or pre-prints).

Reporting Standards and Data Integrity

  • Authors must present accurate research results. Falsification or manipulation of data (e.g., omitting "inconvenient" results) is considered a serious violation.
  • Authors should be prepared to provide Raw Data upon the editorial board’s request and ensure its preservation for a reasonable period after publication.

Research Ethics (Human and Animal Subjects)

Human Subjects Research
All studies involving human participants must comply with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki.
  • Ethical Approval: Authors must obtain approval from a local or institutional Ethics Committee (IRB). The name of the committee and the protocol number must be stated in the Declarations" section.
  • Informed Consent: Authors must confirm that voluntary written informed consent was obtained from all participants (or their legal guardians) for both participation and the publication of the resulting data.
Animal Research
Experiments involving animals must be conducted in accordance with international standards (e.g., Directive 2010/63/EU) and national laws. Authors must confirm adherence to the 3Rs principles (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement).

Privacy and Confidentiality
Authors must protect the anonymity of participants. Names, identifiable photographs, or other personal data should not be published unless they are essential for scientific purposes and specific written consent has been obtained.

Disclosure of Conflict of Interest

  • Authors are required to declare any financial, personal, or professional relationships that could be perceived as influencing the objectivity of the research.
  • All sources of funding (grants, sponsorships) must be clearly stated.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • AI cannot be listed as a co-author.
  • The use of generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT) is permitted only for linguistic editing and must be transparently disclosed within the manuscript.

Notification of Errors

  • If an author discovers a significant error in their published article, they are obligated to notify the editorial board immediately to publish a Correction or initiate a Retraction.
